Is It Possible to Prevent Body Acne and Clear Up Your Skin for Good?

There’s nothing more frustrating than having uncontrollable body acne on your chest, arms, legs, and back, so find out the true solution to clearing up your skin from head to toe through making important dietary changes!

As if getting breakouts on your face wasn’t bad enough, now you have to worry about covering up blemishes all over your body when wearing a swimsuit or T-shirt? What gives? First of all, body acne is the same as acne that appears in your complexion since it is genetic and made worse by a number of dietary triggers and lifestyle choices. Since acne is caused by bacteria on the skin, it means that it isn’t limited to only your face. Acne can unfortunately “pop up”, so to speak, anywhere on your body, especially in areas that produce excess amounts of oil.

Where Does Body Acne Occur?

Since acne lesions are caused by excess oil production mixing with dead skin cells and becoming infected with the p. acnes bacteria, body acne can commonly occur on your chest, back, legs, arms, and backside. In fact, body acne is often made much worse if you’re sweating or don’t change your clothes after working out, greatly increasing your risk for body breakouts. The only place that you won’t find a body acne breakout is on the soles of your feet and the palms of your hands![1]

What Causes Body Acne?

Body acne will typically appear in the form of blackheads, pustules, pimples, or even cysts, and it normally occurs in men and women from the ages of 10 to 40.[2] While I have read research that some medical experts attribute this issue to hormonal changes causing excess oil to be produced in the body during puberty, the true source of the problem actually lies much deeper: in the food that you feed your body.

Since acne in your complexion can be caused by a diet high in fatty foods and excess sugar and carbohydrates, this is also a danger that can extend to breakouts in all areas of your body. The food that you eat each day plays a crucial role in the health of your skin; we are all aware of the fact that eating an unhealthy diet leaves us at risk for a number of diseases in the future, but what most people don’t realize is that your skin is the first area to show these unhealthy symptoms. The bottom line is that if your skin is in poor condition, exhibited in breakouts, a bad complexion, and even wrinkles, that means that your body is in even greater danger for the risk of disease in the future.

In fact, here are what a few acne sufferers from the forum at acne.org had to say about how their diet has impacted the quality of their skin:

“I’d like to second the Flaxseed oil advice! I take 5 pills a day (equal to 1 teaspoon), and it does help my acne. I don’t know if this works for other people or not, but I know for myself, I only have mild acne now. Haven’t had any of those big red painful ones!”

“Wheat, well, food allergies in general, are a growing problem. and food allergies definitely affect your skin health. A few years ago, I figured out that that I’m sensitive to wheat. I cut down on it after some non-skin related symptoms got worse. Cutting down on wheat also improved my skin.”

AND:

“I had pretty bad bacne for a while, and it really annoyed me, steam, vinegar, ice. so I took my grandmas advice. I took a nice hot bath, very steamy. Then I rubbed vinegar (regular kind, lol) on my back, on the spots. I have pretty non-sensitive skin, so I didn’t dilute it. I would say if you have sensitive skin, DEFINITELY PUT WATER, one tsp. vinegar to four tsps. water.. So yeah, then after, i took a large ice cube and rubbed it all over the area, calming it down (this was after the vinegar dries in my skin) and then after almost a month, I barely have a spot.”

As you can see, there are also quite a few household remedies that people use to treat their body acne, but the fact cannot be overlooked that the core problem lies in making poor dietary choices. Actually, it is encouraged to treat your skin through using natural and organic products and home remedies, but you won’t be able to even make a dent in your body acne if you aren’t willing to make important dietary changes first.

So what can you do today to start alleviating body acne? First of all, make a simple switch by cutting out unhealthy carbohydrates, high-fat foods, and excess sugar. It also makes a difference to eat only a moderate amount of protein from animal sources to keep your body in balance and eliminate any dietary triggers that could cause a breakout.

No matter what you may have read or heard, true hope for clear skin starts with an acne treatment based on healthy dietary principles that will strengthen and heal your skin to get rid of body acne for good!
