The Truth About Colon Cleanse Acne Treatments

Acne is a serious skin disorder that affects young adults, as well as men and women that are well past their teenage years. If you are one of the many people struggling to clear up your skin and fight acne, it may seem like a losing battle at times. Long-term acne is not only embarrassing and difficult to conceal, but it can also cause irreparable damage to the delicate skin in your complexion, leading to serious scarring and discolorations in the future.

Is there anything that can be done to stop this vicious cycle?

The Truth About Colon Cleanse Acne Treatments

As an aesthetician, I have scoured the Internet far and wide to find a true acne solution that I can share with my clients. Unfortunately, in my search, I have also found quite a few acne remedies that I would not recommend to any of my clients since they are ineffective and could cause potential damage to your body and your skin. One such remedy is the colon cleanse acne treatment, which claims to be able to clear up your skin through purging toxins from your body that reside in your colon.

To qualify, cleansing the body of toxins is something that I agree with in theory since it is necessary to greatly alter your diet and reduce the amount of processed foods and sugars that you eat each day. What this dietary change will provide to you is the ability for your body to naturally strengthen your immune system and purge toxins through sweat, urine, and bowel movements. Once these toxins are naturally flushed from your body the way that they were designed to, your skin will have the ability to strengthen and repair itself to greatly minimize and even eliminate acne altogether.

That being said, colon cleanse acne treatments take this process to the next level by forcing your body to cleanse toxins and waste at an alarming rate. Many of the blogs I have come across online praise colon cleansing as a valid acne treatment to help your body internally eliminate waste so that you don’t have to use topical acne medications full of harmful chemicals. I would have to say that I am one of the first people to agree with how necessary it is to avoid treating your acne with harmful chemical products that will penetrate your skin and absorb into your bloodstream, but that doesn’t mean that a colon cleanse acne treatment is the logical solution.

Colon Cleanse Acne Treatment Dangers

Your colon is a portion of the large intestine that can contain up to 10 pounds of waste and toxins at any given time. Many of these toxins have been associated health issues, like acne, bad breath, low libido, and a poor memory. [1] This is precisely why many natural health blogs online recommend a colon cleanse acne treatment since it seems like it has the capacity to rid the body of waste and clear up the skin. Yet it is important to keep in mind that our colons are naturally designed to eliminate toxins and simultaneously absorb the vital nutrients that our skin needs to remain healthy. If we disrupt this natural process by flushing the colon to excess, it could also deprive our skin of the necessary nutrients it needs to stay healthy and free from infection.

To back me up, check out what a few acne sufferers had to say about colon cleansing at the acne.org forums:

I don’t know about colon cleanses, and I’m all about that stuff. I have candida and I’ve read that it is pointless to do them as it does little to nothing for your body. If you are taking adequate fiber I believe you will clean yourself out normally.

It’s my opinion that these cleanses that result in this mucoid plaque create the very plaque they are claiming to be cleansing you of. Here’s a link that goes over the whole thing pretty well.http://quackfiles.blogspot.com/2004/12/muc…bious-idea.html Mucoid plaques are never found in people who are not doing one of these cleanses. Autopsies, colonoscopies, surgeries…they never see them. What happens? The “cleanse” pills you are supposed to take contain powdered clay and bentonite. Bentonite swells into a thick rubbery gel when mixed with water. Try to imagine what would happen when powdered clay and bentonite gets embedded into the mucus lining that normally lines the intestines. You’ll get something very much like what’s in those pictures. I don’t think that’s a coincidence. Your intestines would then have no choice but to shed that and create new healthy mucus lining, because the old one is now all clogged up with clay and rubbery crap and all screwed up.

When it comes to getting rid of acne for good, the most important thing to keep in mind is to stop this toxic overload in your body before it starts by making necessary dietary changes. When you begin to eliminate foods that are full of preservatives, unhealthy fats, and sugars, your skin will start to reflect this in its health and vitality. When you take this route, you actually won’t even need a colon cleanse acne treatment since your skin will be able to stimulate healthy cell growth and heal itself from any existing acne lesions!

A Safer Version of the Colon Cleanse

It is true that many have seen benefits from administering colon cleanses. But is there a way to cleanse the colon without risking the harmful effects of such a forceful action on your body? There is! The Coffee Enema is a procedure in which Coffee is introduced to the colon via the rectum. As disturbing as this may sound, by cleansing through ‘the other way’ we don’t take any risk (as long we perform the procedure correctly!)
